ScanImage 2019 : Error occurs when changing frame size on galvo/galvo

An error occurs when scanning 512 x 512 frames followed by scanning 1024 x 1024 frames on a galvo/galvo 2-photon setup, in Focus Mode (BiDI scanning) 1.25 MHz sampling rate.

The image becomes stripey, and software hangs and displays the following continuous errors:

  • ERROR in everyNEvent callback of Task object: Error during readAnalogData(): Number of samples read did not match that expected
  • ERROR in everyNEvent callback of Task object: Error during readAnalogData(): Number of samples read did not match that expected
  • ERROR in everyNEvent callback of Task object: Error during readAnalogData(): Number of samples read did not match that expected
  • ERROR in everyNEvent callback of Task object: Error during readAnalogData(): Number of samples read did not match that expected
  • etc.

This is a performance issue of the computer. This error can be worked around by lowering the striping display rate.

See our Striping Display Documentation page to learn how to configure this feature.

The default for stripingMaxRate is 10. Try lowering this to maybe 2 or 3.

If this does not help, set stripingEnable to false.
