ScanImage 2016 : Dynamic Range of Digitizer Raw Data > max(int16)?

What happens if the baseline value used for offset correction is negative and the dynamic range of the raw data from the digitizer is > 2^15?

Would some values get truncated to max(int16)? e.g. value - (-negative offset)

Yes, in this case the data would be truncated.

You could saturate your digitizer as you suggest, but this is NOT recommended.

The digitizer is regulated that when it gets saturated, it goes into a 'safe' state, which we call over voltage.

Basically, when in safe state, the digitizer switches from DC coupled mode to AC coupled mode and the data is no longer valid.
